Projects Darul Uloom Diwanshah
Named after the great personality of Hazrat Baba Diwanshah (alaihi rahma), this is perhaps one of the first madarasahs of Ahle Sunnah wal Jamat in the state of Maharastra and the first in the city of Bhiwandi. Situated in Shah Ashraf Nagar, Dargah Road, Bhiwandi, district Thane, Maharastra, Daar-ul-Uloom Diwanshah has produced enormous scholars and Huffaz (memorisers of the Quran) for the past 41 years and continues to do so. It was established in 1968 by Qaid-e-Alamal-Islam, Nabeer-e-Huzoor Muhaddith-e-Azam Hind, Shaykh al Tariqat Hazrat Allama Syed Muhammad Jilani Ashraf Kichauchvi (May Allah Protect Him) at age of just 22.
At that time, Bhiwandi was a centre of anti-Sufis and anti-Ahle-Sunnah wal Jamaat. They were ridiculing the great Aulia and the Leader of both worlds, Hazrat Muhammed (Sallahu alaihi wasallam). In this dark atmosphere, arrived a young man with the blessings of Makhdoom Ashraf (rahmatullahi ta’la alai) and the character and courage of his grandfather Huzoor Muhaddith-e-Azam-Hind (rahmatullahi ta’la alai). He organised debates and discussions with them and finally triumphed against all the misguided sects. This is the reason, as to why Daar-ul-Uloom Diwanshah holds a very historical significance in the history of Ahle Sunna wal Jamaat in India. It’s not merely an Islamic educational institution but a symbol of victory over the mislead organisations.
In 1968, Shaykhul Shuyukh, Sarkare Kalan Hazrat Syed Mukhtar Ashraf (alaihi rahma) (Peer-o-Murshid of Hazrat Syed Muhammad Jilani Ashraf) with his blessed hands, laid the foundation of the building, in the presence of many respected personalities. This was a memorable occasion for the common and the elite people of Bhiwandi. There were not only witnessing their leader and spiritual guide, but also his Shaykh. Alhamdulillah! Hazrat Syed Muhammad Jilani Ashraf remained in Bhiwandi with his family, residing in this Madarasah for 22 long years. In these years, Hazrat Syed Muhammad Jilani Ashraf worked hard and through his struggle provided Daar-ul-Uloom Diwanshah with the status of the centre of Islamic education and learning. He also received countless blessings and spirituality from Hazrat Diwanshah (alaihi rahma), hence developing and progressing in his spiritual journey. It was in these 22 years that Hazrat started the monthly magazine “Al-Mizaan” and gave to the followers of Islam an invaluable gift in the shape of a research called “Al-Mizaan A’la Hadrat Number”(which will be available soon). This was the first and without any doubts the most authentic research on Mujaddid-e-Din-o-Millat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan Barelwi (rahmatullai ta’ala alai) up till now. He was a God-gifted writer, and in these years, with the blessings of his forefathers and Imam Ahmad Raza Khan, he progressed and developed his ability in writing to perfection. Hazrat’s progress also meant that Daar-ul-Uloom Diwanshah was consequently progressing and developing.
Education and Facilities
The students of Daar-ul-Uloom Diwanshah are fortunate to study many various subjects that are not available in normal Islamic institutions. Subjects include: the complete Darse Nizami Course (containing the lessons on Quran, Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, Arabic Grammar, Philosophy, etc), Hifz-o-Qirat (memorising and the art of reciting the Quran), Tasawwuf and English. Qualified and able teachers and scholars are present and working for the benefit of the zealous students. The students are served with daily meals and are provided with dormitories and books to study within the Madarsah. With aid and help certain generous people, the Madarasah is able to provide all the aforementioned for the student. So far with the mercy of Allah and duas of his Aulia, Daar-ul-Uloom Diwanshah has produced more than 370 Ulama (Scholars) and Huffaaz, who are working for Islam and Inshallah will continue to produce the inheritors of the Prophet (Peace be upon him).
Darul Iftah
Alhamdullillah, the services of Darul Iftah (House or Centre of Islamic Jurisdictions) has continued for a long period. Many eminent Muftis and Scholars have provided their services and time to this Darul Iftah. Hazrat Mufit Ghulam Mujtaba (alaihi rahma) Hazrat Mufti Abdul Jaleel (alaihi rahma), Hazrat Mufti Zainuddin and currently Sadrul Jamia, Hazrat Mufti Zainul Haq continues to serve the department like his predecessors.
The spiritual groups of the Students, teachers and scholars are spreading the sayings of Allah and the Sunna of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) in a very harmonious and peaceful atmosphere and they vow to carry on this practice till the time ends.
May Allah give us the opportunity to learn his Deen and bless us with halal wealth so that, we may help and aid institutions that are making positive differences for the public. May Allah also further raise the status of Huzoor Shaykh al Tariqat and give him the age of Hazrat Khizr, so that the Muslim society around globe benefits from his wise and visionary decisions and services.
